TBW Students Cricket Tournament: Season-2
MKCC, Elite Eleven Shone on Day-2
Runs showered in every corner of the Amogha Mega Sky Box Cricket Stadium, Chhatia, as four teams clashed on the second day of the TBW Students Cricket League.
Four league matches of the tournament were held on November 30. In the first match, team MKCC, Bartha, Jajpur faced Rising Stars, Bishama Katak. Batting the first innings, MKCC scored 157 runs for 4 wickets. Team Rising Stars failed to achieve this target and MKCC won by 28 runs. MKCC’s Sheikh Amir Uddin who scored a personal best of 54 runs became the player of the match.
In the second league match, team Elite Eleven, Berhampur chased the 179 runs target given by team Shree Sai Warriors, Chaitan. Elite Eleven reached the target easily with the loss of only 2 wickets. The Player of the Match, Adarsh Nayak, who scored valuable 74 runs and took an important wicket, played the key role in this match.
In the third match, the Elite Eleven team got the chance to bat first. Taking full advantage of this opportunity, the team's efficient batting line-up scored 181 runs, which was impossible for the opposition team, Rising Stars, to achieve. Elite Eleven won by 23 runs and Ashish Choudhury became the Player of the Match. Ashish not only scored a century but also took a wicket for his team.
The last match of the day was between MKCC, Baratha, Jajpur and team Shree Sai Warriors, Chaitan. MKCC, Baratha batted first and scored 185 runs in 10 overs. Although Shree Sai Warriors gave them a tough competition, MKCC, Baratha managed to win by just 2 runs. MKCC’s Shekhar Das bagged the Player of the Match title for his valuable innings of 90 runs.
The live streaming of these matches are done through YouTube. A total of 6 groups, with 8 teams each, are participating in the tournament. Top 2 teams of each group will go on to play the Super League, and the best of these teams will qualify for the knock-out phase.
